Greek concert in New York City to help “Floga” Parents Association for Children with Cancer

“Floga” (“Flame”) is a non-profit organization founded in 1982 by parents whose children suffer from cancer. Its aim is to provide the best possible medical, psychological and social care to children and their families.The association’s Board of Directors and its members consist exclusively of parents of children with cancer.

All the parents work on a voluntary basis by providing their knowledge and professional experience for the best achievement of their objectives. Floga has representatives in all major cities throughout Greece and is a member of the “International Confederation of Childhood Cancer Organizations,” which includes 58 countries.

“Flame” provides multifaceted services including granting support to parents, financial aid to less privileged families, coverage of the cost of medical tests not covered by public health insurance, assistance to children’s hospitals for improving conditions and medical equipment, and organizing concerts for the entertainment of the children.

The concert “Voices of Greece,” an initiative of ALMA Bank, was organized is to raise funds for these children in need in Greece. Proceeds will also be donated to “The Smile of the Child”. Greek tenor and international recording artist Mario Frangoulis teams up with his long time friend and mega stage talent Alkistis Protopsalti and up-and-coming Greek-French singer George Perris for this one-time charity event.
